Our Story | HAZYYAF

Every piece at HAZYYAF® begins with a quiet memory… from my father’s workshop, and from a lifelong love for wood and the warmth it carries.

My name is Fayzah, and I am from Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

Growing up, I watched my father, رحمه الله, work patiently and carefully with his hands. He loved learning and could fix or build almost anything — electricity, plumbing, carpentry, machinery, and repairs. He worked alongside العمال, managed family properties and Hajj-related work, and believed deeply in craftsmanship and responsibility.

But the thing that fascinated me most was his relationship with wood.

He rarely allowed us to touch his tools because he wanted to protect us, yet he always let us observe from afar. I remember sitting quietly, watching the way he thought, planned, sketched ideas on paper, and transformed them into something functional, strong, and meaningful.

The scent of wood filled the space around him, and somehow became part of my childhood memories.

Even today, I find myself drawn to fragrances with woody and tobacco notes because they remind me of him, and of the calm feeling that surrounded those moments.

Over time, the idea grew inside me.

I studied Luxury Fashion Management and always dreamed of building a gift brand that felt personal and emotionally connected — products with meaning, warmth, and individuality. I imagined traveling the world collecting rare and beautiful objects that carried stories within them.

After many years working in different professional fields, I began searching for a way to build something of my own. I later continued my studies in retail and brand management, opening new doors and perspectives for myself.

Then one day, my sister asked me:

“Why don’t you try laser engraving and learn it?”

And that was the beginning of my journey back to wood — but this time, with my own hands.

I spent a long time searching for the right name. Sketching ideas, creating logos, starting over repeatedly… until my sister-in-law suggested:

“Why don’t you reverse your own name?”

And that is how HAZYYAF® was born.

A name created from my own name when read in reverse, yet somehow it tells my story exactly as it is.

In Arabic, “الهزف” can refer to speed and movement, while the English word “hazy” carries a sense of mystery and softness. Somehow, the name came to represent both the long journey and the moment when everything finally became clear.

Today, through HAZYYAF®, I create personalized wooden products, laser engraved gifts, and thoughtful designs that carry the same calmness, warmth, and feeling I once found in my father’s workshop.

Every letter, every bracelet, every engraved piece is carefully crafted and wrapped with intention, designed to become part of someone’s memory.
